The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are teaming up with local television stations WMBF and WBTW to introduce a unique promotion for the 2010 season. Between Monday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 31, fans can log onto MyrtleBeachPelicans.com and vote for their favorite local meteorologist to be immortalized as a bobblehead to be given away on August 20 at BB&T Coastal Field. Each station will select a charity of its choice, and the Pelicans will make a donation to both upon the announcement of the winner. The contenders in the Pelicans’ contest are WBTW Chief Meteorologist Frank Johnson and WMBF Chief Meteorologist Rob Hatchell. |
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are auctioning off three different jersey varieties from the last three seasons online at MyrtleBeachPelicans.com beginning next week. Home, alternate, and batting practice tops of Pelicans of the past and hopeful Atlanta Braves of the future will be up for bid. |
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans today announced the club will not renew its food service agreement with its current third-party operator, Ovations Food Services, for the 2010 season and beyond. The Pelicans will immediately begin self-managing their food and beverage operation at BB&T Coastal Field this year under the direction of Brad Leininger, a former Ovations General Manager, who has been hired as the Pelicans’ Director of Food and Beverage. |
