Biography:
- Signed by the Braves as an undrafted free agent on 6/15/2007 out of the University of Texas
- Hit a crucial two-run home run, just the second of his career, to open NCAA Regional Tournament play for his Texas Longhorns against Brown in 2007
- Transferred to UT from Sacramento Community College in Sacramento, California
2007
- Struggled in his first professional season, hitting just .175 in 36 games in the Gulf Coast League
- Played 36 games at first base, second base, shortstop, DH and as a pinch hitter
2008
- Rebounded from a tough 2007 to register a very strong 2008, hitting .295 in 49 games with Danville
- Posted his best offensive game of the year on 7/24 against Bluefield, going 5-5 with a pair of runs scored and one run batted in
- Just over two weeks later, had a 4-5 performance with two doubles and three runs scored 8/10 vs. Princeton
- Saw time at every infield position, playing his natural shortstop position more than any other, also receiving ten at-bats as designated hitter and one as a pinch hitter 7/6 vs. Kingsport, singling and driving in a run
- Had his hottest month in August, registering a .311 average and slugging .541
